Soothing & Pampering massage

This is good for relaxation, tranquillity, inner and outer calmness. It helps to still the mind and body and brings back a sense of balance and well being to the whole person.

This soothing voyage takes you on a peaceful journey tailored just for you, which will leave your body feeling totally relaxed, your mind oozing with renewed energy and confidence and a lasting smile upon your face. A real treat for you, a client or that someone special, this is definitely one to book into your diary on a regular basis.

Massage (to ease pain/sports injury)

This type of systematic treatment is suitable for the types of injuries that would occur from sporting activities or repetitive work related aches and pain.

The first few sessions of the massage therapy will be aimed at the symptoms, relieving the pain, reducing muscle tension and relaxing stressed nerves.

The second stage of massage targets the cause of the pain. When the pain is gone, knotted and scarred muscle fibres are freed and the lymphatic system is stimulated.

The third stage of the treatment involves strengthening the damaged area. This is important because weakness at the injury site or at the point of the pain can cause recurring problems.

The fourth stage of treatment is focused on maintenance. This is the final stage in healing and the first in preventing other injuries. Advance massage techniques are used to treat any problem and can help to prevent the occurrence of new problems. Maintenance sessions can be every week, every fortnight or once a month.

Deep tissue massage

Deep tissue massage (DTM) is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body using advanced massage techniques, slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas. Over the years of practicing deep tissue massage, I have developed my own unique style. DTM can help to break up and eliminate toxins from muscles, it can improve circulation and muscle tone and also promotes a sense of well being.

Why get a DTM?

As well as feeling good, it can be beneficial to your health. When muscles are stressed, they can block oxygen and nutrients. This can lead to inflammation, which in turn builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. DTM can help to loosen muscle tissue, releasing toxins from muscles, ensuring that blood and oxygen circulate efficiently throughout your body. DTM usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or immediately after the massage. However, you should feel better than ever within one or two days. DTM can also help you to sleep better, and is great for pain relief.

Top and Toe massage

Top and Toe massage concentrates on the head, neck, shoulder, back, feet and calves. Using soothing strokes and finger pressure, it helps to unblock the meridian lines and clear toxins. A gentle massage on the scalp helps to drain lymph from the head, which improves circulation to the area.

Also when massaging the reflex points on the soles of the feet, this also treats the whole body, draining lymph from the calves into the back of the knee which eases aches and pains.

This massage is also a quick way to relax and soothe the mind and body and can easily be fitted into your day’s routine anytime you feel the need to have that ‘coffee or chocolate break’.

Indian Head massage

Indian head massage uses and adapts classic Swedish massage techniques, for treating the scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper arms. It is extremely effective for treating stress because it works on the areas of the body most affected ie. the shoulders, upper back, neck and head. Reducing stress, helps to prevent stress-induced muscle spasm in the back as well as shoulders and arms and also reduces inflammation or subsequent pain.

However, although the treatment focuses on the upper torso and head, the effects are felt throughout the entire body. It is performed whilst the client is clothed, which makes it effective for short treatments (and for treating clients who are uncomfortable about undressing).

This massage improves circulation and helps to remove waste, particularly lactic acid, from muscles thus reducing aches and pain. Working on the neck and shoulders will help to reduce tension, stretch the tissues, increase flexibility and release tightness in overworked muscles.

Heated massage

By using carefully selected essential oils, this massage is administered by the traditional gentle body massage and the use of heated pads. This treatment, whilst being soothing and relaxing can also bring relief and improvement to conditions such as stress, tension, depression, insomnia, backache, rheumatism and stiff / aching muscles and joints.

Trigger Point Therapy

Dr.Janet Travell in the United States developed trigger point therapy in the 1940s. Trigger points are areas of tenderness in a muscle, and are very common. They are also referred to as muscle knots. Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the application of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain, and lack of movement in parts of the body. This treatment can also be used with other massage therapies and are performed simultaneously.

Reiki / Crystal Healing Reiki

Reiki is said to accelerate the body’s own natural ability to heal itself, on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. It involves the Reiki Practitioner placing both hands on or above the client in specific positions, which ‘opens’ up the body’s energy channels and helps to clear any blockages that may be affecting the flow of Ki (or Qi/energy).

Bio-Tuning Therapy

Bio-tuning treatment is a complete system of healing, developed from ancient traditions and medical systems, which promotes the balance and well being of the whole person. Utilising traditions and principles of psychotherapy, together with theology, bio-tuning treatment adopts healing approaches for the mind (psyche), the physical body, the mental and spiritual body (emotion & feeling). Collectively this approach provides a powerful synergy for the holistic healing of the whole person.

The intimate links between the body and psyche (mind) are acknowledged. Therefore, bio-tuning treatment, breathing and other bodywork are integrated with specialist talking therapy in order to provide you with an individualised programme of treatment.

  • Slows down the heart rate thus improving breathing
  • Releases physical and mental tension which promotes feelings of calm and well being

  • Helps with headaches, stiff joints, insomnia, tiredness/lethargy, depression, anxiety & psychosomatic symptoms, thus improving well being but also increasing self-awareness, confidence and a sense of control and balance.

Psychotherapy Services.

Mindbody~Therapy

This is a natural approach, which seeks to promote balance and well being to the whole person and as such is based on ancient traditions and medical systems that use a broad range of techniques and methods to promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It works well in conjunction with modern and other forms of conventional treatment.

This means any combination of the above treatments can be used at any one time depending on the individual need of the client. It involves the creation of a dedicated safe place to talk with your therapist enabling the client to find solutions and resolve any difficulties.

Physical touch and movement therapies are hands on approaches that work on the muscles or deeper connective tissues thus alleviating the blockages caused by stress and tension in order to restore harmony to the whole body.
